Nicos Sykianakis

Nicos Sykianakis is a Professor at the University of West Attica, where he teaches Financial Statement Analysis, Management Accounting, and Corporate Governance. Previously, he taught accounting courses at the Athens University of Economics and Business and the Hellenic Open University. He worked at Price Waterhouse – Certified Auditors from 1995 to 1997 and was a member of the Board of Directors of ATTIKO METRO S.A. from 2004 to 2010.

 

Nicos Sykianakis holds a BA in Business Administration (1991) and an MBA (1993) from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He obtained his PhD from the University of Manchester, School of Accounting and Finance, in 2002. His doctoral thesis, entitled “Foreign Direct Investment Decision-Making: A Case Study of a Greek Company in the Balkans,” examines the capital investment decision-making approach of a large Greek company operating in the Balkans during the 1990s.

 

He is currently completing an MA in Modern Greek History at the Hellenic Open University. His research interests include Greek foreign policy during the 20th century, with particular emphasis on relations with Balkan and Eastern European countries.
